Congressman Larry Bucshon Comments on Keystone XL Pipeline Announcement

Nov 10, 2011 Issues: Energy, Jobs and Economy

(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) released the following comment regarding the President’s decision to delay the Keystone XL pipeline until after the 2012 election.

Congressman Bucshon (IN-08) states:

“While the President is travelling the country talking about the need for jobs, why is he delaying a project that will add 20,000 jobs?  I find this decision very intriguing as the American people are struggling to make ends meet and find meaningful work.  The President needs to stop focusing on campaigning and using politically charged rhetoric and work to get projects started that will create jobs.

The Keystone XL pipeline is another example of the Washington, D.C. doublespeak by the Obama administration.  This project has already been declared to be environmentally sound, yet has still been held up for three years.”
