Description:
The Teleri (meaning Those who come last) were the third of the Elf clans who came to Aman. They were the largest of the 3 houses of the Elves.
In ancient times they named themselves Lindar, or "Singers", because they were known for their fair voices.
According to legend, the Teleri were descended from Enel, the third Elf to awake in Cuiviénen. Now, among each house of the Teleri are young girls (Enlil) who are blessed with the spirit of Enel and are the only ones with voices sweet and fair enough to tame the mighty dragons of the Valar, who were created at the Awakening by Ilúvatar to protect the Quendi. These young girls are sent into the wilds at their age of passing to call to them their mounts who will serve them for the rest of their days.
These Enlil were, for many ages, the bane of Melkor's Lieutenant, Sauron.
