http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/faithbasedbrokenpromises-300x285.jpg

Massive Quakes and Volcanic Destruction? I’m Still Waiting for God’s Mini-Me
Self-proclaimed religious psychic visionary Linda Newkirk has issued her latest prophecy in an e-mail blast: “Massive Quake/Volcanic Destruction Imminent!” Oh dear! But I’m not quite convinced it’s time to go out and buy a lava-repellent helmet. In December 2009 Linda …

Mike McIntyre Uses Prayer As A Pose For Power
Congressman Mike McIntyre doesn’t care enough about prayer to center his own life around the practice, so what right does he have to lecture to the rest of us about how we’re not praying enough?

A Miracle That Fighter Jet Malfunctioned And Wrecked Homes
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/eastermiracle.jpg
Just to make the point clear that he wasn’t just talking about dumb luck, but a bona fide religious miracle, the mayor explained, “We’re so blessed and truly believe a miracle has occurred here with us not having any victims.” It was a particularly Christian miracle, too, apparently. A “Good Friday miracle”, according to the mayor.

Why Bother Holding A Reason Rally?
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/lakeoffirerally.jpg
It’s easy to forget that there are many places in America where it’s still extremely difficult for a person to publicly acknowledge that they don’t have any religious identity. Until such places are the exception, rather than the rule, it will be sadly reasonable to attend events like the Reason Rally.
After the End of the World: A Harold Camping Redemption Footnote
We’ve spent a little bit of time deriding the absurdity of Harold Camping’s counterfactual prediction that world would incontrovertibly end in Spring 2011, his later insistence in the world would really really end in October 2011, and his consistent call …

More Americans Wish Politicians Would Stop Using Religion As A Political Tool.
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/obamaromneychurch.jpg
Secular liberals are treated as pariahs by the Democratic Party. There is no functioning political party that represents the interests of secular Americans over the interests of religious Americans.

Disunity Defines Spiritual Experiences

A survey of spiritual experiences suggests that the concept of “God” is peripheral to the actual experience of the religious realm for most people… if it’s related at all.
Scientists Confirm Finding “Osiris Particle” Is Near, Or Not
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/osiris.jpg
Journalists have discovered that if they give the nickname of a god to a scientific subject that people don’t otherwise care about, their writing all of a sudden becomes relevant to readers and publishers.

You Islamic Radical – Oops – I Mean Environmentalist!
http://irregulartimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/alicestewart.jpg
After people heard her accuse President Obama of being a secret Muslim extremist, Alice Stewart came back to MSNBC and said that her use of the phrase “radical Islamic” was just a slip of the tongue. We all can understand that, right? Why, just the other day, I was at the grocery store, and I asked the man at the deli counter for some “thinly sliced radical Islamic”.
