Roeper's Lunch Program
We are excited to once again offer a daily lunch program through Chartwells School Dining Services for the Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills Campuses during the 2011-2012 school year.
Chartwells is a national organization that provides food to a variety of educational institutions across the country. Currently, they provide lunch services for Cranbrook Schools and Detroit Country Day School.
After culling input from interested members of the Roeper community, a committee of school staff and school administrators selected Chartwells based primarily on the quality of the meals and their commitment to providing the following:
- A wide variety of menu items that will appeal to students.
- Food prepared from scratch daily, e.g. freshly baked bread, etc.
- Safe food handling procedures that ensure the students receive wholesome, nutritious meals.
- A dedicated liaison responsible for the daily oversight of the program.
- Convenient – Lunch cart available daily at the school for the Birmingham campus students to purchase items and a cafeteria type experience for the Lower School children.
We were also impressed with Chartwells’ focus and philosophy: “From kindergarten to college, the foods we serve help fuel the ideas and dreams of future generations. But we do much more than feed hungry students. We practice a single-minded commitment to building strong bodies, sharp minds, and establishing the foundation for a long, healthier life. We call this Eat. Learn. Live.”
The selection committee is confident that Chartwells will provide a great food service program for the school that will meet the needs of our students and families.
