Man, I so agreed with this quote I recently heard from Scarlett Johansson. She said, "I'm constantly surprised by how rude people are." Don't we know it! Are people more rude than before? Or are we just noticing it now? I think sometimes people act rude without realizing it. In Johansson's case, she said people will try and take her picture sometimes even when she's having dinner with someone or in moments where she's trying to have a conversation with a friend.
Some would say that this is okay behavior because she's a celebrity, but let's face it, it's really not. We need to take a step back sometimes and self-reflect before we act. That would really help those rude moments where we just don't stop and think. We all do it, and we need to be better at monitoring out own behavior and the boundaries we cross with friends and even strangers.
Speaking of Johansson, she's starring in The Avengers which just came out this past weekend. I'm definitely going to see it at some point. Are you?

I watch the show Castle occasionally, and a few years ago I read the real-life book by the fictional Richard Castle, Heat Wave. As a writer myself, I was intrigued that the show had a real novel penned by a fictional person, which actually made the real-life NY Times bestseller list.
If all this sounds confusing, it's because it's like a story within a story within a story. Nevertheless, if you're a fan of the show, you'll probably enjoy the books as well. They read just like an episode of Castle.
I'm thinking of Castle today, because the season finale airs tonight and promises that "Castle tries to protect Beckett as she pursues the man who shot her; the 12th precinct is forever changed as feelings and secrets are revealed." Hmm... sounds like a good one. I may watch.
Castle, incidentally, is one of the shows I recommend watching in order to make small talk with new people. I've met so many people of different ages and backgrounds that enjoy the show, and I've been able to chat about it from many different angles. Some people are huge fans of Nathan Fillion, so they'll basically watch anything that he's in. Others really like the fact that the show is a throwback of sorts to those detective shows from the 70s. Others are just hoping Castle and Beckett get together and start a real relationship. I suppose I'm a little of all three.
Do you plan to watch the finale tonight?
