Saturday April 28, 2012

Teotihuacan is a spectacular archaeological site just outside of Mexico City. This site is definitely worth a visit. When it was at its peak around the year 200, it was one of the biggest cities in the world. Teotihuacan is famous for its Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon, but these are just two of the buildings that made up the ancient city. Take a virtual tour of Teotihuacan to see a glimpse of what the site has to offer.

Where will you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

Wednesday April 25, 2012

Cinco de MayoCinco de Mayo is just over a week away, and they're planning a blowout party in Puebla to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the event which this holiday commemorates. If you're still under the misapprehension that May 5th is Mexican Independence Day, I suggest you read up on the origin and history of Cinco de Mayo! Festivities in Puebla will include a mole festival, a concert by pop singer Marc Anthony, a nighttime pyrotechnics show, and a massive parade marshaled by President Felipe Calderon with some 30,000 participants and 62 floats. Read more about Cinco de Mayo in Puebla.

If you can't make it to Puebla this year, celebrate wherever you happen to be with a Cinco de Mayo party.
