MOTHER’S DAY Darren Lynn Bousman (“Saw,” Numbers 2 through 4) directed this remake of Charles Kaufman’s 1980 thriller about a clan of bank robbers, led by Rebecca De Mornay, who seize the house that once belonged to them and take its inhabitants hostage.

THE PERFECT FAMILY Not so perfect, really, as the family matriarch — played by Kathleen Turner — discovers when she is nominated for Catholic Woman of the Year at her local parish. With Jason Ritter, Emily Deschanel and Richard Chamberlain; Anne Renton directed.
