The 8th Annual Switchfoot Bro-Am

Friday May 4, 2012

Switchfoot Bro-Am 2011The line-up for the 8th Annual Switchfoot Bro-Am has been announced.  Dead Feather Moon, The Howls, Brandon and Leah, and Jon Foreman & Friends will perform at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA on Saturday, June 16th.

The Bro-Am, which runs from Thursday, June 14 to Saturday, June 16, will kick off with the pre-event auction at The Crosby at Rancho Santa Fe. It will feature a VIP meet & greet, silent and live auctions, opportunity drawings, live entertainment from mentalist Lior Suchard and food and drink from upscale establishments like Pacifica Del Mar, Solace & The Moonlight Lounge, Del Mar Rendezvous, Pacific Coast Grill, Zenbu, and Rimel's.

The annual surf contest will take place at Moonlight Beach on Friday and Saturday. Surf teams will feature riders representing Hurley, Billabong, Channel Islands, Transworld Surf, Surf Ride, Dragon, and many more, as well as members of Switchfoot.

The event, sponsored by Hurley, is free to the public with funds being raised from beach vendors and sponsorships as well as at a pre-event auction. This year's Bro-Am will benefit the San Diego area chapters of StandUp for Kids, a national nonprofit volunteer outreach organization that is dedicated to helping and making a difference in the lives of at-risk, homeless and street kids. Since the very first event in 2005, the Bro-Am has raised more than half a million dollars for various San Diego-based children's charities.

In a press release, Switchfoot's Jon Foreman said, "The Bro-Am has been my favorite day of the year ever since we started it back in '05. We feel truly honored to again partner with StandUp For Kids, an incredible organization serving at-risk youth here in San Diego and across the country. Last year was our biggest year ever, and we hope to top it again this year."

Skillet Songs

Tuesday May 1, 2012

Skillet - Carolina Rebellion Concert - May 2011 - John CooperFor the past 15 years, Skillet has been making music that we, the fans, fall in love with. They've changed their sound once or twice, but regardless of whether they're doing industrial rock, worship or hard rock, they still sound great. The list of Skillet songs are my personal faves -- what are yours?
