The State Department’s Office of Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs aims to create a dialogue between the U.S. Department of State and members of the public. Through the use of its contact database, it works to keep academic, Diaspora, non-governmental, think tank, locally elected officials and other members of civil society apprised of opportunities to engage the Department of State on foreign policy issues. Completion of this form will help the Department expand its engagement with the non-governmental community by improving its ability to more specifically target and engage the public based on individual interests.

By completing this form, you are opting to become a contact in the Bureau of Public Affairs’ database; your contact information will be added to a database that is accessible to and maintained by the Bureau of Public Affairs only. The Bureau of Public Affairs will not share your contact information with any outside organizations. In six-month intervals, you will be sent an email message prompting you to confirm the accuracy of your information. If your information has changed, you will be asked to update it at that time. If you do not respond to the update reminder, your information will be removed from the database. Please note that you can be removed from our database at any time by sending an email to PublicOutreach@state.gov with “unsubscribe” in the subject line Please refer to the Status of Records Notice at the bottom of this web page for additional information about the Bureau of Public Affairs and how your information will be used.
