Waghorn seals Foxes switch

Striker Martyn Waghorn has joined npower Championship side Leicester City.

Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn has completed a move from the Black Cats to npower Championship side Leicester City for a fee rising to £3m.

The 20 year-old rejoins the Foxes after a hugely-successful loan spell at the Walkers Stadium last season where he bagged 12 goals in 43 appearances and was named the club's Young Player of the Year.

Waghorn rose through the ranks at Sunderland's Academy of Light youth setup, making his first team debut against Manchester United aged just 17 under former manager Roy Keane.

He bagged a brace during pre-season this summer as the first team kicked off its season preparations with a 2-1 win over a Munster XI in Limerick.

The striker has previously enjoyed a loan spell with Charlton Athletic and has represented England at Under 19 level.
