Czisny 'resting comfortably' after hip surgery
Recovery from torn labrum should take up to four months

The two-time U.S. champion is resting comfortably after having successful surgery, her mother, Debbie Czisny, said. The surgery was performed in Nashville by Dr. J.W. Thomas Byrd, who has served as a physician for the U.S. Olympic team and is the Tennessee Titans' team physician. Czisny's injury was discovered last month after an MRI revealed a labral tear, which affects the soft tissue between the hip joint and the femur.
Czisny, 24, could be off the ice for up to four months as she rehabilitates the hip. She's slated to make her competitive return at the 2012 NHK Trophy, which will be held Nov. 23-25 in Miyagi, Japan.
Czisny finished third at Trophée Eric Bompard, and after injuring her left calf in a practice session, she wound up fifth at the Grand Prix Final. She took a week off to rest and showed signs of recovery at the U.S. championships, bringing home the silver medal. However, she had difficulty landing jumps at worlds in Nice, France, where she finished a disappointing 22nd.
Czisny skated to national titles in 2009 and '11.
