This Friday marks the big screen debut of 'Brave,' the latest movie from Pixar. By this Saturday morning, we expect Princess Merida, the movie's plucky heroine, to stand alongside Wall-E, Buzz Lightyear and Nemo as a beloved audience favorite. A new...
Merida from 'Brave' is not your typical Disney princess. Pixar's first female protagonist may be beautiful, but she is not in any way dreaming of her prince to come. Instead, the firstborn heir of the Scottish kingdom of DunBroch, would rather sling her...

Its. Very funny
A fairy tail for the true of heart. The first fairy tale princess not concerned with finding a prince charming. About time!
Brave was a real disappointment. I'm not exactly sure what I expected, but it wasn't what Brave delivered. Instead of this being a movie about an... ndependent princess fighting the social mores of her day (marrying the victor in a contest of skill), it's really about a girl rebelling from her \"mother bear\" (I'll leave a little mystery, in case you want to see this film). The father (the king) is a likable dope. The mother (the queen) is over-bearing in at least two ways. Granted, I'm a 45-year old man who took my two boys to see it, but I just didn't get it. Also, there are a number of scenes too scary for younger viewers. I saw some of the professional reviewers who raved about the gorgeous animation. Perhaps. But what good is it over a lousy plot? If you're looking for something to take the kids to, I'd definitely recommend Madagascar III over Brave. Full Review
