This movie is extremely touching and is an inspiration to all people, Catholic or not. Please see this movie, and as one of the characters says,... ot;open your mind\" to the truth it reveals. Full Review

This is the reason why Critics's Review is mostly worthless. What a shame these people earn a living by their worthless critique. Better to accept... e viewer's 89% favorable. Critic's are biased! Full Review

In its use of locations and sets, it's an impressive achievement by director Dean Wright, whose credits include some of the effects on the "Lord of the Rings" films. If it had not hewed so singlemindedly to the Catholic view and included all religions under the banner of religious liberty, I believe it would have been more effective.Full Review

Even at 143 minutes, For Greater Glory cannot satisfyingly fill out the stories of a half-dozen secondary characters, and there are frustrating gaps in the biographies of Gorostieta and José. The jamming together of so much history and melodrama makes for a handsome movie that is only rarely gripping.Full Review

The sort of lumbering epic drama that went out of fashion by the late 1960s, For Greater Glory is mainly notable for shedding light on a little-known historical conflict, namely the Cristero War that took place in 1920s Mexico.Full Review

There's enough froth along the way to keep the memory of Will Ferrell's recent "Casa Di Me Padre" close at hand.Full Review
