Merry Hill

Overview

Merry Hill is one of the UK’s most successful shopping centres and the focal point of a 220–acre, mixed-use complex in the heart of the West Midlands.

The 140,800-sqare-metre shopping centre houses more than 250 stores including Bhs, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Primark and Sainsbury’s. The complex includes an Odeon cinema and external retail park. The Waterfront provides office accommodation and an exciting mix of restaurants and bars, which create a vibrant social destination throughout the day and into the night.

Merry Hill is currently making improvements to the retail mix and adding impressive full-height glazing shop fronts. It has plans for a spectacular new food court.

Development

In partnership with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, Westfield has developed the Brierley Hill masterplan, which would link Merry Hill, the Waterfront and Brierley Hill High Street to create a new urban centre. The masterplan proposes comprehensive improvements to the public transport infrastructure and the construction of 1,300 new residential units and significant office, leisure and public spaces.

Merry Hill is owned by Westfield, QIC of Australia, and the Westfield UK Shopping Centre Fund.
