Play begins today at the TPC Players Tournament. The image above shows a happy Tiger Woods on the 18th green during the practice rounds at TPC Sawgrass in 2011. Sad to say, the happy mood did not last: he didn't make it past the first day of tournament play before being forced drop out through injury. If you've never visited Sawgrass, you've missed quite a spectacle. The Pete Dye TPC Sawgrass stands alone as the best in golf course design. Everyone knows about the fantastic 17th Island Green at the Sawgrass TPC Stadium Course but few have seen the rest of the course, except maybe when watching the TPC Tournament on TV. The course as a whole, though, is incredible. Here's your chance to judge for yourself. TPC Sawgrass Photo Gallery.

Ok, so take four amazing golf courses, add more than a thousand luxury condominiums, town houses and a hotel; throw in a lively little village, several restaurants, nightlife, entertainment and shopping, and what do you have? Well... you have Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort on Florida's Northest Gulf Coast, an outstanding golf and vacation destination where you can stay, play, eat and shop without ever leaving the property. Oh, and yes, the weather is great for golf all the year long, well... almost all the year long. Would you like to learn more? Of course you would. So please read this full review of Sandestin Gold and Bexh Resort.

Ok, so they are just my own personal choices, but these are, in my opinion, the five best golf courses in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Now, I suppose I'd better qualify that: I have not played, or even visited, all 120 plus golf courses and resorts in the greater Myrtle Beach area so there's no doubt that, as visit more and more of them, I'll change my mind; there's also no doubt that many of you will have other ideas. That's ok too. In fact, I like to hear from you. In the meantime, please take a look at the five locations I've listed as the five best golf courses in Myrtle Beach.
