Obama's economy: Things are so bad that adding 80,000 jobs looks good

October's jobs report shows that the economy added 80,000 jobs, a paltry number. Even as employment dropped from 9.1 percent to 9 percent, it is still lousy news. The economy will improve only when Obama is gone. Whether it's Romney or Cain or Newt, it doesn't matter. The president's policies have failed.

Gaddafi dead; U.S. unemployment still 9.1 percent

Obama kicks butt, but even knocking off Col. Gadaffi of Libya ain't enough for a re-election. Also, is the devil you know better than the Muslim Brotherhood you don't?

On Baseball....

"Baseball breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come out, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone.

"You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.

"Today, October 2nd, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped, and summer was gone."

-- A. Bartlett Giamatti, "The Green Fields of the Mind," 1977

U.S. economy produces zero jobs, first time since 1945

This is what happens with an absence of leadership, a president who bitterly clings to failing policies and who believes in wealth redistribution, and politicians (both Dem and Repug) who wish to use their power to rule, not govern.

Obama disapproval hits all-time high, Gallup reports

Gallup reports President Obama's disapproval rating is the highest ever -- 55 percent. This, despite all the jobs he's saved or created in non-existant congressional districts, and in despite the economic depression he saved us from, and his heroic photo op during Hurricane Irene. Well, that's gratitude for you.

Marines ban "audible farting" because it offends Afghanis

Actually, it's offensive to most people, so what's the big deal? The Marine Times blog ""Battle Rattle" has the scoop.

Consumer confidence craters to Carter-esque levels

Is it possible President Barack Obama will turn out to be even worse than Jimmy Carter? A "double dip" recession, along with our misbegotten adventure in Libya, (where the resources of the world's mightiest militaries cannot find and kill a tin-pot dictator) would likely cinch Obama's place beneath Carter's slot. That so many chattering class Lefties are abadoning him shows you what they are: disloyal do-nothings who would toss their own grandmothers under the bus. Oh, wait....

Non-traditional family values

From the BCCT:

"A Falls woman will stand trial for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend in the leg when he wouldn't wake up to take care of their crying baby. Felicia Hitner, 30, of Lakeside Drive waived her right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday in the Falls court of District Judge Jan Vislosky. Hitner's arraignment in county court in Doylestown is scheduled for Sept. 2. The alleged incident occurred in June. Police said Hitner admitted that she stabbed her boyfriend, Michael Barcik, in the calf while he was lying in bed."

Dem pollster: Obama legacy may be withering "American Dream"

Jobless claims up, no deal on the debt, inflation, foreclosures, the end of the Shuttle program. All around, it feels as if America is in decline under President Obama. Americans don't like it. A Democratic poll shows Obama's would likely lose to a Republican, the plastic-fantastic shape shifting Mitt Romney, if the election were held today.

So it figures that Americans who believe in the American Dream, be it material or spiritual happiness, has dropped 20 points since Obama was inaugurated in January 2009. Perversely, this could help Obama, as another Dem pollster, John Zogby notes. In 2008, Obama won those voters who said the American Dream was impossible to attain.

Maybe this is part of the progressive plan. Psyche out and depress enough of the American public, and win! It's not uplifting,

Steve Wynn: Economy won't improve until Obama is gone

Well, this is a revoltin' development for the hopey-changey set. Casino/hotelier Steve Wynn -- who actually knows something about running a business -- said President Obama's stewardwhip of the economy and "lack of leadership" on the debt crisis is holding back economic recovery. Said Wynn on a company conference call:

"This administration is the greatest wet blanket to business, and progress and job creation in my lifetimI support Democrats and Republicans. And I'm telling you that the business community in this country is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the President of the United States. And until he's gone, everybody's going to be sitting on their thumbs."

Which explains why some $1 trillion (and counting) in investible corporate profits sits on the sidelines. American business is on strike against Obamanomics.

Vote for a capitalist for president in 2012, and you'll likely see your job prospects improve and your paycheck grow fatter.

Press conference to nowhere

After Friday's "debt ceiling" presser, even friendly business journos like Clive Crook at The Atlantic have noticed (Finally!) how President Obama is a balloon leaking gas. About Obama's podium performance, the Crookster says:

"A less than electrifying performance. I understand the difficulties and sympathize. There's little Obama can do in the short-term about the refusal of House Republicans to budge. As long as they are willing to destroy the nation's credit standing if that is what it takes to win, Obama's choice essentially boils down to capitulation in the national interest or mutually assured destruction. Even so, the press conference was dispiriting. Obama seemed unusually hesitant and unsure of himself. I'm not sure what he hoped to achieve by it."

Obama doesn't know what he's doing. That's probably why his economics team has left. They see where his policies are leading. Or maybe they are just going to make a load of dough as lobbyists.

Meantime, a reissue of Shepard Fairey's "Hope" poster might boost morale. But today that iconic poster serves only to draw derisive chuckling from half the American voting public.

NYT: Obama's sob story about dying mother fighting health insurer is false

The New York Times puts the wood (How it must pain them!) to Barack Obama's dramatic and oft' told story of how his dying, cancer-stricken mother fought with Cigna health insurance over paying for treatments that were deemed "pre-existing conditions." Not true, according to a book about Stanley Ann Dunham, who died in 1995 a year after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

As Thursday's paper reports: "But in "A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama's Mother," author Janny Scott quotes from correspondence from the president's mother to assert that the 1995 dispute concerned a Cigna disability insurance policy and that her actual health insurer had apparently reimbursed most of her medical expenses without argument."

The paper also reports that the Obama's spokespeople are not challenging the story. However, they are spinning it, so Obama supporters don't come up empty on talking points.

Which brave member of the White House press corps will ask the president to clear up the discrepency?
