O'Brien to Sehwag, OUT, O'Brien the home boy has struck with the big wicket. It was a short-of-length delivery bouncing close outside off stump, Sehwag stayed adjacent to the line, tried to punch it through the off side and got the thick edge through to the delighted McCullum. What a rapid start he has given, though. The ball shaped in a touch to further cramp Sehwag and that did the trick

V Sehwag c †McCullum b O'Brien 48 (70m 51b 7x4 1x6) SR: 94.11

India 73/1   G Gambhir 23* (42b 2x4)   IE O'Brien 1.3-0-4-1

Franklin to Gambhir, OUT, Nice bit of bowling from Franklin. After taking the previous deliveries outside off stump, he brings this one back in. Gambhir gets forward to defend, the bat is well outside the line as the ball thuds into the pad. Dead duck. India have lost the openers after racing away like a run-away train.

G Gambhir lbw b Franklin 23 (78m 47b 2x4 0x6) SR: 48.93

India 75/2   R Dravid 2* (4b)   JEC Franklin 1-0-1-1

Martin to Tendulkar, OUT, It was the short of length delivery outside off stump, holding its line, Tendulkar didn't get his back foot across, stayed away from the ball and tried to punch it through cover point. Edge and gone! NZ celebrate and why not.

SR Tendulkar c †McCullum b Martin 62 (108m 85b 11x4 0x6) SR: 72.94

48.3

Southee to Laxman, OUT, New Zealand continue to gnaw their way back into the game. They have taken out Laxman now. Full and well outside off, inviting Lax to drive and he falls for it. The weight transfer isn't great and the gets a thick fat edge to left of second slip where McIntosh takes a neat sharp catch. Every time India have threatened to run away, New Zealand have fought back.

VVS Laxman c McIntosh b Southee 4 (25m 16b 0x4 0x6) SR: 25.00

India 173/4   R Dravid 30* (94b 3x4)   TG Southee 9.3-0-51-1

51.3

Ryder to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, Jesse Ryder has struck again. What a priceless cricketer to have in your side. Yuvraj was pushing his front leg across and Ryder thought, rightly, this is the time to sneak in the full one. It was full and straightening on the middle and off line, Yuvraj's front leg was planted way across and he couldn't get his bat around the pad in time. Done in by the change of length. New Zealand are tightening the noose. That would have hit the off. The ball ballooned of the pad behind the wicket and Guptill rushed from the cordon to 'catch' it as well. Hawk eye says it would just have missed the off.. I thought it would have hit the off. And tv comms are also going whether Harper gave it bat and pad catch to gully. There was no bat involved there. IT looked a good lbw shout and it was in the end.

Yuvraj Singh lbw b Ryder 9 (11m 12b 2x4 0x6) SR: 75.00

India 182/5   R Dravid 30* (100b 3x4)   JD Ryder 2.3-2-0-1

58.1

Martin to Dravid, OUT, And Dravid is gone now. It was banged in short and Dravid went for the pull but mistimed it completely and it popped slowly to the man standing in front of square leg. New Zealand are really running hot here. From 165 for 2, what a comeback. Dravid is angry with himself as he walks off, flaying his bat here and there. Perhaps, done in by the slightly extra bounce. He made contact with the top half of the bat

R Dravid c Franklin b Martin 35 (182m 114b 3x4 0x6) SR: 30.70

India 204/6   MS Dhoni 15* (27b 2x4)   CS Martin 15.1-2-53-2

76.6

Southee to Dhoni, OUT, But don't worry NZ fans, Southee has taken out Dhoni with a bouncer. Dhoni went for the pull but top edged a simple chance to fine leg. Good innings from him but New Zealand have struck as the partnership was assuming threatening proportions.

MS Dhoni c O'Brien b Southee 52 (106m 89b 6x4 1x6) SR: 58.42

India 283/7   Harbhajan Singh 39* (53b 4x4)   TG Southee 15-0-79-2

82.1

Martin to Harbhajan Singh, OUT, There was no edge in the previous appeal but he is out, hitting straight to mid-off now. Entertaining counter-attacking knock, with a few edges which would made Vettori age quickly, from Harbhajan ends. It was a length delivery outside off and Harbhajan tried to knife it on the up but ended up giving a simple catch to mid-off. Very important innings for India. Along with Dhoni, Harbhajan has pushed India over 300

Harbhajan Singh c Vettori b Martin 60 (102m 78b 7x4 1x6) SR: 76.92

India 315/8   Z Khan 2* (8b)   CS Martin 20.1-2-75-3

85.6

O'Brien to Khan, OUT, Lovely sharp bouncer and a very fine catch by Baz. Zaheer fended it off from his face and McCullum jumped with an outstretched right hand to pluck it back to the earth. Another useful innings from the tail and India edge towards 350.

Z Khan c †McCullum b O'Brien 33 (41m 23b 6x4 0x6) SR: 143.47

Martin to Sharma, OUT, And Martin ends the Indian innings with a swinging delivery outside off stump. Ishant went for the big drive and got a thick edge through to Baz.
