During the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games, foreigners residing illegally in Guangdong will be expelled from the country. Mr. Yang, the political commissar of the Guangdong Exit and Entry Management Bureau announced recently that actions will be stepped up to stop illegal aliens.

The number of illegal foreigners residing in Guangdong is thought to have considerably increased, frequently living and working here without a valid permit. According to Mr. Yang, last year about ten thousand illegal foreigners were expelled from the country and the public security bureau promises to make sure "every foreigner is working and living within the law."

To encourage people to report foreigners living illegally in China, the police have promised a 100 RMB reward to whistleblowers whose information successfully leads an expulsion.
