Ruth Smeeth

Ruth Smeeth is deputy director of Searchlight and the HOPE not hate campaign, which is the oldest anti-fascism organisation in the UK. A Labour activist for nearly 20 years, Ruth is the former parliamentary candidate for Burton and stood in the 2010 general election.  She is a known campaigner and occasional contributor to Progress. An active member of the GMB, Ruth has previously worked in the British trade union movement as well as in the private sector. Ruth is a candidate for the 2012 NEC.
