Xavier College Prep Students Celebrates Third Graduating Class

PALM DESERT, Ca – Xavier College Preparatory High School will celebrate its third graduating class in a Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, June 2nd at 4:00 p.m. at the Xavier campus in Palm Desert.

 

Xavier’s graduating class of 2012 will is third graduating class in the school’s history and consists of
83 graduates and approximately 25% are first in their family to attend college. This class combined racked up 332 college acceptances and over 6.3 million dollars in scholarship offers.

 

Some of the acceptances for this year’s graduating class include; (2) Harvard acceptances, Princeton, Stanford, Boston College, Duke University, Georgetown University,  Johns Hopkins, The U.S. Naval Academy, and many more.

 

This year’s Valedictorian is Lien Le.  Lien has been accepted to Harvard, and before she starts her studies at Harvard, she plans to spend a gap year studying, on scholarship, in Germany.  This year Lien also earned the National Merit Scholarship. All winners of Merit Scholarship® awards (Merit Scholar® designees) are chosen from the Finalist group, based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments–without regard to gender, race, ethnic origin, or religious preference. A variety of information is available for NMSC selectors to evaluate: the Finalist's academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the Finalist's own essay.

 

Xavier’s Salutatorian is Adetola Omilana. Tola has been accepted to Harvard, and will attend in the Fall. This year Tola was also awarded the National Achievement Scholarship. All Achievement Scholarship® winners (Achievement Scholar® designees) are selected from the group of Finalists based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments–without consideration of financial circumstances or college choice.

 

The graduation will be held in the gymnasium on the Xavier Campus located at 34-200 Cook Street, Palm Desert.
