The carnival procession began to gather in as interested spectators filled the grass bank overlooking the main arena.

Bank Holiday Monday is the traditional culmination of a Leeds carnival that began on Friday with the Carnival Queen show in Millennium Square.

Hardened revellers will have started the Monday at the J'Ouvert parade, around 6am, before progressing onto the main procession.

To finish the day there is a Last Lap Dance starting at 10pm on Monday until late at the West Indian Centre.
