Mrs. Levinson, who lived for many years in Forest Park, was born Violet Krichinsky, the daughter of Russian immigrants who settled in Baltimore early in the 20th century. The struggles and successes of the Krichinsky family formed the backdrop of [Barry Levinson]'s 1990 film, Avalon, which with Diner and Tin Men form what has been called his Baltimore trilogy. Services for Mrs. Levinson will be held at noon today at Sol Levinson & Bros., 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville.
