According to Us Weekly, Kristen Stewart, 22, was caught on tape in a “marathon makeout session” with her older — and married — Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, 41.

Update: Stewart and her camp have released a public statement saying, “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” according to People.

The magazine revealed on Tuesday that it has a series of photos showing the pair getting hot and heavy during a heated rendezvous that took place on July 17. “It seemed like they couldn’t get enough,” reported the mag.

Neither Stewart nor Sanders’ reps could be reached for comment, but it looks like the actress’ people are on the defense, claiming that she’s distraught over her actions. “Kristen is absolutely devastated. It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgment,” a source told People. “She wasn’t having an affair with Rupert. It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice.”

It isn’t just Stewart’s camp that is reeling from the news. According to E! Online, Sanders’ wife, Liberty Ross, 33, posted a questionable tweet a few hours before the announcement hit the interwebs. “Wow,” she simply wrote.

As if that weren’t enough of a hint, the last Twitter account that the mother of two followed was Us Weekly — the same mag that ran a photo of her husband locked in an embrace with Stewart.

Ross, who stars as Stewart’s mother in the Snow White flick, also recently blogged for U.K. Vogue. In a recent post, the actress/model shared a pic of her with Stewart and their costar Charlize Theron — but has since taken it down, reports E! Online.

Ross and Sanders have two children together. Stewart and Pattinson were last seen smiling at the Teen Choice Awards — just five days ago.
