eBay is considering an option that would give shoppers who click the "Buy It Now" button on a listing 30 minutes to change their minds, according to a recent eBay seller survey. But sellers are not pleased at the thought of having orders cancelled once the BIN button is clicked.
Currently eBay sellers must go through an "Unpaid Items" process when buyers fail to pay for purchases, and this week a Florida seller sued eBay over the process of dealing with deadbeat buyers.
According to the lawsuit, eBay refuses to fully refund their listing fees or to let sellers relist their items without incurring additional fees for unpaid orders - "This includes instances where eBay affirmatively commands the seller not to complete the transaction," according to the plaintiff.
What do you think of eBay's unpaid item process and the possibility of a 30-minute window for cancelling eBay orders?
(This paragraph originally said 30-day, but as stated in the first paragraph, it's a 30-minute window.) Let us know what you think on the EcommerceBytes Blog.
