Ark Coca-Cola Place, Australia

Ark-Coca-Cola Place (aka Coca-Cola Place) is a landmark A-grade office building in North Sydney comprising 28 500 m² over 21 floors.

The building embraces environmentally sustainable design and technology and is now home to Coca-Cola Amatil, Vodafone Hutchison Australia, Australian Worldwide Exploration Limited (AWE) and Regus office space.

Aurecon was appointed by Investa, the developer, as engineering consultants for this building, which was constructed by Thiess. We were responsible for the review and design direction of the building on behalf of Investa and were also engaged throughout the construction period to ensure the project delivered the standard of quality expected for this landmark building.

The building incorporates many energy and water saving features, including a tri-generation system to generate its own electrical power, while simultaneously providing building cooling. Rainwater is collected and reused through the building’s greywater recycling system.

The building’s large, contiguous and efficient floor plates, from 2 004 m² (low rise) to 1 260 m² (high rise), provide design flexibility for tenants.

Under Property Council of Australia (PCA) standards, Ark is rated as an A-grade office building. It was chosen as Best Development of the Year by Urban Taskforce of Australia in 2010. The building was awarded a 6 Star Green Star Office Design and As-Built rating which represents world leadership in environmentally sustainable design. It was also designed to achieve a 5 Star NABERS energy rating.
