Farah Khan has made her mark in Bollywood by delivering successful films like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om.
Young contestants from season one and two of Dance India Dance Li’l Masters will compete against each other in a new reality show called Dance Ke Superkids. For the first time, protégé Geeta Kapoor will be on the judging panel with her guru Farah Khan. The show goes on air from August 25 and will
be a five-week series that follows the IPL (Indian Premier League) format.

Kids will perform as two teams — representing both seasons — and there will be no eliminations. Season one contestants Jeetumoni Kalita, Vaishnavi Patil, Ruturaj Mahalim and Atul Banmoria will compete against season two’s Faisal Khan, Soumya Rai, Om Chettri and Jeet Das. Choreographers for the teams are Dharmesh Yelande, Mayuresh Wadkar and Vrushali Chavan from season one, and Raghav Juyal, Prince Gupta and Kruti Mahesh from season two. Jay Bhanushali may host the show with dancer Shreya Acharya.

“It was only logical for us to follow up DID Li’l Masters with this show. The kids from both the seasons are pretty famous and it’s best to milk their popularity right now,” says Ashish Golwalkar from Zee TV, adding, “We had a show called Dance Ke Superstars on the same lines. We hope this one does well too.” Did the channel want Geeta and Farah together to get higher ratings? “No,” says Ashish. “It’s pure logic. The ladies represent two different seasons of the show. Their conversation anyway leads to good content.”

Back in the day… Farah Khan and Geeta Kapoor have worked together for many years. The latter was the actor-choreographer and filmmaker’s assistant. With Main Hoon Naa (2004), Farah became a director and Geeta continued to work with her until she made debut as a choreographer in Heyy Babyy (2007).
