Good teaching is the single most important factor in closing the achievement gap. That’s why Denver Public Schools is focused on having a highly effective teacher in each and every one of its classrooms. Combining theory and classroom experience, the Denver Teacher Residency prepares aspiring teachers for success in an urban school district.

You will teach and learn alongside a mentor teacher in a Denver Public Schools classroom for a full academic year, pairing this experience with earning a master’s degree from the University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education. As a resident you’ll receive data-driven instructional support and training in elementary or secondary education to best serve DPS’ highest-need students.
