Jeff Kelly will be entering his first season as the defensive line coach for the Garden City Community College football program. Kelly has been with the program since the spring. In addition to his duties with the defensive line, Kelly heads up the strength and conditioning program for the Broncbusters. He is also a familiar name to the Broncbuster program as he was an All-American Linebacker for GCCC in 1996.

Kelly comes to Garden City after most recently servins as the defensive coordinator at Modesto Christian High School in Modesto, CA. Before his time at Modesto Christian, Kelly served as the defensive line coach at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX. He has also had coaching atops at the University of Arizona, Pima Community College, the University of Oklahoma, and Kansas State University.

Prior to starting his coaching career, Kelly had a standout playing career. He transferred to GCCC after spending a year at Stephen F. Austin University in Texas. Following his time at Garden City, Kelly went on to be a star for Kansas State University. He was named First Team All-Big 12 both of his years at Kansas State. He was also named an NCAA All-American as a linebacker in 1998.

Following his days as a Wildcat, Kelly was drafted in the sixth round by the Atlanta Falcons. Jeff played a little over three years with the Falcons, including starting a handful of games in his third year with the club. After his stop with Atlanta, Kelly caught on briefly with the Jacksonville Jaguars before ending his playing career.
