Yes, in an interview that lady didn't know that MTM was being filmed at that very moment for the opening of this show and was worried that MTM might get hit by a car since she was in the middle of the street. At least that's what I heard... I am also not sure she even knew it was MTM.

I was 10 years old when this show aired for the first an watched it faithfully. I wanted to be her when I grew up. :)

- Mary Tyler Moore HATED her hair during the first two seasons. At the time the actresses hair was still the same length it was when she was doing "The Dick Van Dyke Show".
CBS exceutives wanted her to have a look that was different to the character she played on that show and she agreed to wear a "fall" which was added to her own hair and gave the illusion that it was longer than what it really was
When the show became an established hit, she reverted back to her own short style...
