Japan mobile phone operator NTT DoCoMo plans to release a smartphone produced by Chinese firm Huawei in October, marking the company’s first-ever launch of a Chinese-made smartphone. Previously, DoCoMo sells phones from Taiwan-based HTC and Korean companies Samsung and LG, this will be the firm’s first major launch of a China-made smartphone. DoCoMo boasts that the new device is currently the world’s fastest phone, requiring only five seconds to start up after being turned off — one-sixth the time required by other smartphones model. It’s somehow ironic to see telco companies from China and Japan are dealing business together, regarding on the recent anti-Japan protests happened in China.

The Taiwanese vendor has previously offered two Android tablets — the Flyer and Jetstream — though neither slate achieved any mainstream success. IFA is taking place in Berlin this week so it is possible that HTC will announce this tablet in the next day or two. Additional images after the jump.
