Well, I kinda like the III logo to be honest.
Not as much as the classic logo, but I kind of like it. It looks... retro-futuristic Reminds me of logos from games from the early 90s. In fact, it may just be reminding me of some specific game that I can't quite think of... #23Posted 30 July 2007 - 01:12 PM
Some of the TS logo concepts were posted up on PPM A while back, I dont know what threads, but they REALLY differ from the normal logo. Also, who cares about the logo? Wouldn't matter to me if I had that bastard Primal attacking my dudes. D= I'd have a cow, or two. Thats such an impressive render, though. I love that picture...

Why do You guys have such an aversy to EVERYTHING involving Generals? It's only the fonT! Especially considering that this logo is very good all by itself. ..Or, should we say.. Generals use C&C3 logo font. Since Generals was done 'instead' of C&C3. They sticked to the logo but removed the "III". and changed the general layout to one resembling "classic C&C". I dont care about logos (While, you know of my design affinity), i just wanted to know why hes so fodn of this. #27Posted 30 July 2007 - 09:36 PM
Hehe... has a generals feel to it, maybe EA/WW was going for a new type of style with them. And I actually remade one of the TS Logos, also the C&C3 one used in some of the Tiberium Incursion / Tiberium Twilight screen shots, i know, its basic... but heh...
Topic about my C&C logos can be found here... http://www.ppmsite.c...pic.php?t=15597 #28Posted 30 July 2007 - 09:47 PM #29Posted 31 July 2007 - 02:02 AM
So...could someone explain what were the names such as "Tiberian Twilight" (I heard it was a working name) or "Tiberian Incursion" for, if not for Westwood C&CIII?
#30Posted 01 August 2007 - 05:22 AM
Tiberian Twillight was believed to be the subtitle of CnC3.
Incursion was also a hypothetical name for a C&C RTS. There was also Continuum - A MMO game in C&C universe. WW had big plans for CnC but was bought up and instead we got Generals..

Yep, Continuum could have been great. Seems it had many features that other MMOs only had years later
Still, I think a Dune MMO has more potential to be great than a C&C MMO ever could be. Maybe you could select from either: -Fremen -Atreides -Harkonnen -Ordos -Tleilaxu Fremen would start with the ability to ride sandworms and walk without attracting them. Atreides would start with a positive relationship with the Fremen faction which would allow them to more quickly learn stuff like sandworm riding from the Fremen. Harkonnen would be hostile with Fremen at the start but could earn their trust and ride sandworms eventually, but maybe they could start with more powerful weapons and armour. Ordos would be more in between, neutral to Fremen for example. Maybe they could have some kind of financial advantage? So then you'd start on Arrakis, Caladan, Giedi Prime, Draconis IV or Tleilax depending on your race, which would be the tutorial/starting zone. Then after a few levels you'd take a Guild Heighliner to Dune and your adventure would start properly I was just pondering a Dune MMO last night... it has so much potential. Still, couldn't see anyone but Westwood/Petroglyph doing it justice. I just like their interpretation of the Duniverse the best Back to Continuum though... I wonder how exactly it would have worked? It was "C&C meets Zelda meets Counterstrike". It had "crisis zones" which were like instance dungeons that'd have scripted boss battles. Would the game have focused on the drive to get better equipment through these boss battles in a WoW-style way or something else? Hmmm. #32Posted 01 August 2007 - 06:17 AM
I can imagine it - you start as a minigunner and are part of an attack versus a GDI base. And the boss is Havoc or some of the Dead Six. Delicious

I've never heard of Incursion being a name of another C&C title. I thought it was a later version of the name for the C&C3, Twilight being the first. Could any of the ex-Westwood employers confirm this? #34Posted 01 August 2007 - 12:21 PM
Incursion...I heard that was Renegade 2's title... :| So whats up with Incursion, Ex-ww?

I have it here somewhere...let me see....anyway, I think it was too mutated or green and gloomy looking to be Renegade 2 logo...
Here's the link for the picture. It's in the list. I know it's the renegade 2 section, that's why you might think it is a ren 2 logo, EatMyCar. Clicky #36Posted 01 August 2007 - 03:04 PM
I don't care about the logo (mine is the best EVAH )
But the telly is nice ^^ #37Posted 01 August 2007 - 03:58 PM EatMyCar, on Aug 1 2007, 06:21 PM, said: Incursion...I heard that was Renegade 2's title... :| So whats up with Incursion, Ex-ww? Yeah, that would be a great game. Interesting world, story, factions.. Lots of stuff (From swords to machine guns and lasers), maybie vehicles. Imagine a GVG in which Fremen attack Harkonnen position with 3 Sandworms, with 40 men on each.. Harkonnen try to hold them off with machineguns but the Fremen shot back untill they get close enough - Then they jump off from the worm and a hand-to-hand battle with the use of knives and sabers begins.. Wish such a game would happen.

Let's see if I can clear some of this up:
Incursion was a working title for one iteration of C&C 3 -- what people thought was called Twilight. We never (ok, except one time on accident) ever called C&C3 "Tiberium Twilight", everyone just assumed it would be named that because of Dawn / Sun for the first two, and it was initially meant as a trilogy of games about the Tiberium war, Kane, etc. I can't blame people for making the logic jump there though, it makes a lot of sense. Continuum was the MMO working title. I still like that one a lot. Renegade 2 was called Battlegrounds or something like that internally... can't remember specifically. #39Posted 01 August 2007 - 06:31 PM
On CNCNZ.com, we did an interview with Adam (and other Petro guys) during the C&C 10th Anniversary in August 2005. He explains a few things about Renegade 2, C&C 3 incarnations and Continuum.

I can't believe it's already been 2 years since we both put the questions together to interview the Petroglyph staff. I swear I still haven't recovered from organising the C&C 10th Anniversary.... Man.
But yeah, there's some good stuff from Mike, Delphi, and Frank in there as well. All very interesting reads. Share this topic:
