Mumbai: A conclave on Indian and global financial markets, organised by Zee Business in association with MCX Stock Exchange, started here with the goal of “bringing together the best financial brains of India under one roof” to discuss key economic and financial issues”.
The conclave began with the key names in the Indian stock markets speaking on “Where to Invest in 2010”. Big Bull Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Edelweiss’ Rasesh Shah, Anand Rathi, Shankar Sharma, Enam chairman Vallabh Bhanshali, investment wizard Gul Teckchandani and Ramesh Damani were part of the inaugural forum.
Deena Mehta of Asit C Mehta; Motilal Oswal, chairman of Motilal Oswal Securities; Nilesh Shah, deputy MD of ICICI Prudential AMC, BC Khatua, chairman of FMC, Madhusudan Kela, head of equities at Reliance Mutual Fund are some of the market experts who will speak at the conclave.
Launching the conclave, Samir Ahluwalia, editor of Zee Business said: “The financial markets conclave is aimed at bringing together the best financial brains of India under one roof to discuss key issues pertaining to Indian business and markets and also to recognise the contribution made by the best Indian market analysts.”

As part of the conclave, Zee Business also presented the inaugural edition of ‘India’s Best Market Analyst Awards-2009’ across three categories -- equities, commodities and special contribution -- honouring India's financial stars.
The winners included D D Sharma, senior VP of Anand Rathi; Gautam Shah, AVP of JM Financial; Nitin A Khandekar, VP of Keynote Capital; Ashok Kumar, director of Lotus Knowlwealth; Vaishali Jajoo, analyst at Angel Broking; Hatim Broachwala, research analyst at Khandwala Securities; Prayesh Jain, analyst at India Infoline; Siddharth Bothra, senior V P of Motilal Oswal and Hardik Shah, analyst at Asit C Mehta.
Ashok Mittal, VP of Karvy Comtrade; Anuj Gupta, senior analyst at Angel Broking; Ram Pitre, head of BRICS Commodities; Ajitesh Malik, senior analyst at Religare Commodities; Tarang Bhanushali, commodity head of India Infoline; Bharat Kumar, director of GFM Research also won awards.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Ramesh Damani, Deena Mehta, Dinesh Thakkar, Motilal Oswal, Vallabh Bhanshali, Anand Rathi and B C Khatua were honoured for their special contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Raktim Das, business head of Zee Business said: “The award is aimed at acknowledging contributions made by Indian financial market analysts in empowering the retail investor.
