Matt Kamine has been named to the Jewish Sports Review All-America Baseball Team.

EASTON, Pa. - Matt Kamine has been named to the Jewish Sports Review Baseball All-America Team. The 2007 Lafayette graduate, who helped guide the program to its first ever Patriot League title, was one of 18 players selected from across the nation for the honor.

The Leopards' No. 1 starter was an All-Patriot League First-Team honoree who finished his senior season with a 7-5 record and a 2.97 ERA despite battling a forearm injury for the bulk of the season.

Kamine took the ball in the Leopards' opening game of the Patriot League Tournament vs. Army. The southpaw did not surrender a run in the first inning despite being dealt three errors. He went on to earn the victory and a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Kamine also pitched in the Leopards' opening round game in the Charlottesville NCAA Regional against No. 7 Virginia.

The Oldwick, N.J. native struck out 10 batters on two separate occasions (Navy, Bucknell) in conference play and led the team in strikeouts (72), innings pitched (94.0), complete games (7) and shutouts (2).

Kamine was one of eight pitchers (four starters and four relievers) selected to the 2007 Jewish Sports Review All-America Team, joining David Kopp (Clemson), Jeff Kaplan (Cal State-Fullerton), Max Perlman (Harvard), Michael Schwimer (Virginia), Justin Klipp (Cal-State Fullerton), Brad Altbach (Bradley) and Justin Segal (UC-Santa Barbara).

Kamine, who was one of seven Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selections in 2007, graduated from Lafayette in May with a degree in Engineering.
