MICHAEL OWEN - AN APOLOGY

Friday May 22,2009

ON Friday, May 15 we published an article entitled “UNWANTED TOON STRIKER AT CROSSROADS. FINISHED AT 29?

England ace Owen on the verge of quitting for a career in sport of kings”. The article claimed that as a result of a lack of interest from Premier League football clubs Michael Owen was on the verge of retiring from professional football
at the end of this season.

Having heard from Michael Owen we accept that our article was wrong. We are happy to set the record straight and clarify that Michael has absolutely no plans to retire from professional football at the end of this season.

We also accept that it was too early to speculate about which club Michael may be playing for next season.

We apologise to Michael for any distress and embarrassment caused as a result of our article.
