EXCLUSIVE: Robert Rodriguez Talks Predators Prequel, Sin City 2, Spy Kids 4 and Madman!
Today we had a chance to sit down with Robert Rodriguez and talk to the talented filmmaker about his new movie and a few of his upcoming projects. We began by asking him if over the years he had envisioned any ideas for possible sequels to Predators? "There are so many great ideas," Rodriguez answered. "Just following Laurence Fishburne's character (Noland) around in a prequel would be a great movie. Just the tales he tells in this movie alone, I want to see those experiences," he teased. "That's why I wasn't precious even about the original script I had," Rodriguez continued. "Because once you come up with the idea of a Predator Planet, that Predators use as their hunting grounds and humans are involved somehow, the story ideas that you can come up with are so numerous that you can come up with any approach. So we already have several ideas that we can go with for a sequel. They would all be good ideas but we would probably put them together to see which one rises to the top, if we made another one," Rodriguez concluded.
We continued by asking Rodriguez about the current status of Sin City 2, the long rumored sequel to his 2005 hit based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. "It's in the same place as always, I'm working on the script," he answered. "I'm trying to actually find the time to do it because I know I'm doing Spy Kids 4: Armageddon next." Intrigued, we asked Rodriguez if he could tell us a little more about that project. "It's a re-boot of my own series from ten years ago," he explained. "But then I'll have an open slot so (Sin City 2) could go after that."
Finally, with such a busy schedule we wanted to find out if Rodriguez still plans on making a big screen adaptation of the popular superhero comic book, "Madman" by writer Mike Allred, which he has owned the film rights to since 1998. "Yeah that's still on the plate too," he said. "I love that project and I talk to Mike Allred about that all the time."
Predators was released July 9th, 2010 and stars Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo, Louis Ozawa Changchien. The film is directed by Nimród Antal.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For comes to theaters October 4th, 2013 and stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller.
Spy Kids: All the Time in the World was released August 19th, 2011 and stars Jessica Alba, Joel McHale, Rowan Blanchard, Mason Cook, Jeremy Piven, Alexa Vega, Daryl Sabara, Danny Trejo. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez.

I love R.R. cause he makes good, solid, fun movies. They might not be epic art pieces but it doesn't matter because what he makes is simply a good flick.

I wonder if he is going to do "Deadpool"...that might be ok. Except that it would have to be "R"...that would make it perfect.

why does it say Sin City 2 comes to theatres in 2010, when Rodriguez has just stated that hes still working on the script?

Weird, why make a prequel? Just make the prequel the first in the series. Either way, I am sure it will be good.
