Saltzman Creek flows through Forest Park into a culvert at Highway 30, and its subwatershed extends from the ridge of the West Hills near NW Skyline Boulevard to the Willamette River. The mostly wooded upper portions of the subwatershed retain some natural characteristics. The terrace along the river has been filled and developed, but in the past was probably a mix of wetlands and seasonal lakes.
