Bradley Bubb: 2011/2012 Biography & Statistics

Bradley is a hard-working striker, who possesses electric pace and an eye for goal. He is the younger brother of ex-Hendon winger (and one-time Shots trialist) Byron Bubb and the cousin of former Aylesbury United forward Alvin Bubb.

Bradley started his career in Hendon's youth set up in the summer of 2004 and scored 24 goals for their youth team in 2004-05; he also made his sole senior appearance of the season, when coming on as a second half substitute against Slough Town in the club's penultimate home Isthmian League Premier Division game.

During the 2004-05 season, Bradley had regularly drawn attention from clubs higher up the footballing pyramid, but it was Championship side Queen's Park Rangers that eventually added him to their academy squad in the summer of 2005. During the 2005-06 season, he made seven appearances for the Rs' under-18s, scoring once and netted a brace in a 6-1 demolition of Woking in his only reserve team outing; he was also loaned back to Hendon at the turn of 2006, making six more first team appearances from the bench (in a side that now included brother Byron) as well as appearing regularly in their reserves.

Bradley left Loftus Road in the summer of 2006 and joined Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Chalfont St.Peter, with whom he won that season's Wycombe Senior Cup (he scored twice in the 7-0 demolition of Downley Albion the final); he finished the campaign having scored 14 goals in 37 appearances, which greatly contributed to him winning the club's 'Player of the Year' award. The following season saw Bradley net 38 goals in 57 appearances for the Saints, who finished as runners-up to Beaconsfield SYCOB in both the Premier Division and the Premier Division Cup final (in which he scored).

In the summer of 2008, having scored 52 goals in the previous two seasons, Bradley left Mill Meadow to join Beaconsfield, who would be playing in Southern League Division 1 South and West as a result of their aforementioned title win. Club and player both flourished in 2008-09: the Rams spent the majority of the season in the top six before eventually finishing fourth and then losing to AFC Totton in the play-off semi-final. Meanwhile, Bradley scored a phenomenal 35 goals in 38 appearances, including a six-minute hat-trick against Andover in the March and a goal in the aforementioned play-off defeat.

July 2009 saw Bradley take another step up the footballing pyramid, when he signed for Farnborough. He made his debut against Leamington on the opening day of the 2009-10 Southern League Premier Division season, scored a brace in the very next game against Brackley Town and followed that up with a goal in each of the next two matches (against Truro City and Didcot Town). Bradley trialled at Charlton Athletic in the October and his season ended with him top-scoring with 18 goals in 44 appearances, which contributed greatly to Boro winning the league title.

2010-11 brought international honours for Bradley as he made his debut for Grenada as a substitute against Martinique in a Caribbean Cup match in the November, with his first start coming two days later against Trinidad and Tobago in the same competition. He was the subject of interest from several Football League clubs during the season and, having scored 10 goals in 10 appearances across January and February 2011, including a run of eight-in-five and a hat-trick against Dover Athletic, he trialled at Championship sides Portsmouth and Barnsley before turning down a move to League 2 Barnet.

In early February 2011, Bradley played in a game that is believed to have yielded the fastest-ever sending off for a goalkeeper: Ebbsfleet United's Preston Edwards was dismissed after just 10 seconds of the game, with Bradley scoring the resultant penalty past 18-year-old stand-in keeper Tom Phipp (who was actually a midfielder!) with just 1:25 on the clock.

He scored twice on the final day of the 'regular' season against Thurrock as Farnborough finished as runners-up to Braintree Town in Conference South; they subsequently beat local rivals Woking in the semi-final before losing to Ebbsfleet in the final, but Bradley didn't score in any of those three games. He finished the season with 22 goals in 44 games and was also voted into the 'Conference South Team of the Year'.

There was to be virtually no summer break for Bradley, though, as he played for Grenada in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA with soon-to-be club mate Anthony Straker; the Spice Boys were eliminated at the first round (group) stage. Bradley finally achieved his dream of being a Football League player in July 2011, when he signed a two-year deal with Aldershot Town.

Unfortunately, Bradley found his first team chances at the EBB Stadium in 2011-12 few and far between, so most of his game time came during loan spells at Conference South clubs Basingstoke Town and Eastleigh (for whom he finished as leading league goalscorer). However, he was a playing substitute for the Shots in the defeat by FA Premier League superpower Manchester United at the EBB Stadium in that season's League Cup fourth round.
