Interview with Shane

What did you do for a living before The Amazing Race Australia?

I have been a Police Officer for 17 years and I now work as a Crime Scene Officer with Kingston Crime Scene Services.

How did you first meet?

Andrew & I meet 6 years ago at the Kingston Crime Scene Desk

In what ways do you think you complement each other as a team?

We have a similar sense of humour and are usually on the same page. I am more outgoing & animated, where Andrew is more laid back and easy going.

What strong points do you have that you think will help you win the race?

I am strong willed and will never give up. Persistence will be the key and always go hard or go home.

How are you planning to deal with the stress so you don’t crack on the race?

I have my great mate TONY to crack a joke with and we will not take things too serious.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

Danced across Flinders St station intersection wearing a purple wig and dancing to the song “Dancing in the Street”

What was the first thing you did when you learned that you had been selected to be on The Amazing Race Australia?
Andrew and I were working together at the time and when we got the call we were that excited. We gave each other a high 5 and I said words similar to “You little ripper” I will never forget that day.

What's one quality about your team mate that could hold you back during the race?

He may be too laid back and not aggressive enough.
