Both tourists and applicants for a temporary residence permits have to lodge a deposit of 130400 AD or 1470 Eur in the Embassy. This is considered as a repatriation guaratee. The deposit will be refunded to the applicant after the final departure from the RSA to the coutry of origin. In case of oversaty, the applicant will be penalized and thus a certain amount of money will be deducted from his/her deposit.
