Walmart is opening a new location in the Heights area this fall and hiring 250 full- and part-time associates before the grand opening. They plan to eventually employ 300 Houstonians for the store, approximately 50 of which will transfer from other stores.

Associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store located at Yale and I-10, including those for supervisory positions.

To facilitate the application process, they have opened a hiring center at 2150 W. 18th Street, Suite 208 which will be open and accepting applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested applicants can also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.

Walmart’s benefit program is available to eligible full- and part-time associates and provides a variety of health and well-being benefits including health care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to six percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening early this fall.
