The Chapel was built at the same time as the rest of the New Court, but some of the glass used in its windows stems from mediaeval times and was imported from the continent by the designer of the Chapel, William Wilkins. It also has a very beautiful 17th century 'Madonna and Child' painting by Elisabeth Sirani and is probably the only College Chapel to feature an icon. The Christ Pantocrator was painted for the College by a Greek orthodox monk as a focus for contemplative prayer, which underlines the strong ecumenical aspect of worship in the College. A lot of the Religious Life and some of the Music at Corpus is centred around the Chapel.
