Sonia may come, but Guj won't go to the corrupt: Modi Pavagarh: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday culminated his state-wide Vivekanand Yuva Vikas Yatra in Pavagarh, continuing his attack on the Congress-led UPA government. Addressing a rally in Pavagarh, Modi also listed the achievements of his government over the past decade. The tour was organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.

Hitting out at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Gujarat Chief Minister said, "I want to ask the Prime Minister why Gujarat is not treated as part of India and showcased to the world." The BJP leader also attacked UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi again saying she might come to Gujarat, but the state would "not go into the hands of corrupt people".

Attacking the government at the Centre, the Gujarat Chief Minister said, "UPA government is facing corruption chargesit needs to be taught a lesson."

The Gujarat Chief Minister also referred to UK's decision to send British High Commissioner James Bevan to visit Gujarat to enhance its engagement with the state. He said, "The UK government has understood the progress of GujaratI welcome them."
