Dear Friend of Stanford Athletics, 

Now that I have had some time to settle into my new position, I wanted to say thank you for your continued support.  In a very short period, I am truly struck by the generosity and impact of the Buck/Cardinal Club and the DAPER Investment Fund. Without these sources, it would be even more challenging for Stanford student-athletes to achieve such unparalleled success, which includes 18 consecutive Directors' Cups and 103 NCAA team championships.

That being said, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the overall experience of our student-athletes. As the landscape continues to change and recruiting becomes more competitive, we must utilize our creativity to help our students in the classroom and in their respective sports.

That's where you come in. Donors to the Buck/Cardinal Club help fund all 35 varsity teams and more than 800 student-athletes. This includes everything from coaching and training, to travel and recruiting. No gift is too small.

As we embark upon the 2012-13 season, please be assured that we will use every dollar wisely to help sustain and enhance Stanford's proud legacy, and that we are constantly striving for greater success. We face some difficult challenges ahead, but with your support, I know we can tackle them head-on.
