Circa 1840-5O tall 3 storey and basement ashlar faced house with Italianate details.
Stepped road front. Low hipped slate roof with boxed flat eaves. Broad chimney
stacks, vertical grooving giving grouped affect, bracketed cornice caps. One window
to each half of front. Plat band and sill band to 1st floor. The windows have
flat surrounds, eared on 2nd floor: pediment over left hand window and cornice
over that to right, on lst floor, supported on consoles with guttae. Small stone
balcony with pierced balustrade and brackets supporting, below right hand window.
Large canted bay window ground floor left, strip surrounds to lights with guttae
consoles to cornice over each - similar single window to right hand. Pierced stone
balustrade set in front of area. Entrance bay set back projecting from 2 window west
front. Doorway with cornice on console brackets. The windows have recessed sashes,
glazing bars mostly intact. Dominent position by bridge and as seen from canal to
north. One window north west wing.
