When the heavenly (and spandexed) bodies align, you know that you are at Comic-Con. A conclave of passionate fanatics, early adapters, taste makers and borderline sociopaths, Comic-Con is the game-changing event in the world of tentpole films, television, comics and all of our favorite franchises.

COMIC-CON COVERAGE ON UGO

UGO has stood proudly in the eye of this hurricane of deformed humanity, acting as the Edward R. Murrow of movie revelations, superhero announcements, casting bombshells and surprise screenings. Of equal importance, we’ll bring you the best and the worst cosplay of Comic-Con, exclusive toys and collectibles.

Who can forget the moment Leonard Nimoy shocked the world, appearing in Hall H to say that it was “logical” to appear in J.J. Abrams’ reboot of Star Trek? Or when the sound engineers from Skywalker Sound recorded audience applause to use in Tron Legacy’s final sound mix? Who can forget Edgar Wright leading a thousand lucky fans through the streets of San Diego to the first public screening of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? Or when Robert Downey Jr. assembled the Avengers before our eyes like the unveiling of the Mercury Seven astronauts, making Joss Whedon cry on stage? How about the cast and creators of LOST taking a victory lap before 6000+ grateful fans before their final season? Or 6000 sexually frustrated moms losing their minds over Team Edward and Team Jacob taking off their shirts?

Let’s also not forget: the warm weather of San Diego also affords ample opportunity for showrooms of exposed flesh. From inside and outside the convention center, UGO shutterbugs are snapping pics of Catwomen, Slave Leias, Supergirls, Harley Quinns, Leeloos, Supergirls, Mystiques, Orion Slave Girls, Sailor Moons, Lara Crofts and anything else you’ve ever dreamed of coming to life in primped, nubile form.

SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON AND MUCH MORE

After the four days in San Diego (July 21-24, 2011) the Comic-Con Universe doesn’t stop expanding. UGO is always on the beat, covering panels at New York Comic-Con, Wizard World shows and fan conventions all the way from Rivendell to the Gamma Quadrant.

Wherever there is fanaticism, we’ll be there. Wherever there’s a hot chick dressed like Jill Valentine, we’ll be there. Wherever there’s a bearded man on a dais using words like “crossover,” “multiverse” and “retcon,” we’ll be there. Comic-Con is where we all want to spend every weekend, but if you’ve wasted all your money on DLC, trade paperbacks and Blu-rays, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.
