Here's a video, photo and blog from Jason S, grand prize winner of the Nashville Dress Rehearsal Party contest run by The Official Paramore Fan Club.
Hello, Paramore fans. My name is Jason. Some of you just know me as "the kid with the RIOT! tattoo." Well, that little investment took me all the way to Nashville, Tennessee. How you might ask? Well, it’s fairly simple, actually. The band decided to hold a contest for the fan club members. All you had to do was upload a video or write an essay explaining why you should win and get to see the band perform a private dress-rehearsal show. Well, I did just that, and was then informed that the band chose my video as the winner. I got to see the band perform alongside other fan club members, and this is that story.
My guest, Shannon, and I met up with the other PFC members, Kacy, Hannah, and Joy at the meet up location, and then hopped on a bus to the venue. We arrived with about fifty other people, all of which had won tickets through various radio stations. One winner came all the way from Munich, Germany. That, readers, is dedication. Upon entering the small room with a stage no higher than a foot and a half off the ground, we were all handed copies of the set list. This set list was written out by Hayley, and contained shortened, entertaining titles for some songs. I’ll address the songs as they appeared on the set list.
The band came on stage from a door located behind the stage itself. They welcomed all of us to the event and then proceeded to introduce Justin York. He will be taking Josh’s place during this tour while Josh is off planning a wedding. Josh was at the event, though. While we were waiting for the show to start, there was a small seating area with a rug, couch, and table. Hannah looked over and then asked me, “Hey, is that Josh?” and sure enough, it was. It was at that moment I realized that this event was going to be relaxed and candid, two things that go together oh so well.
