Summary: The Pistons entered the postseason as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. After a first round sweep of Orlando and a six-game series with Chicago, the Pistons faced the Cavs in the Conference Finals. The Cavs, led by LeBron James, got the better of a veteran Pistons team. A notable addition to the Pistons’ roster (after the notable exit of center Ben Wallace to CHI last summer) was center Chris Webber - who signed as a free agent on Jan. 16, 2007.

2007-08 OUTLOOK
The Pistons’ main goal is to re-sign All-Star Chauncey Billups. If they succeed, they could be back atop the Eastern Conference next season. The Pistons got a much needed dose of youth in this year’s draft with athletic swingman Rodney Stuckey from Eastern Michigan and UCLA’s Arron Afflalo. Both should strengthen the bench for next season, along with third-year big man Jason Maxiell.

Cheick Samb – The Pistons traded away Maurice Evans for Samb’s draft rights in last year’s draft. Samb averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds last summer in the league. He played professionally in Spain this past season and added about 30 pounds since last summer. If he plays well, he could be on the roster next season.

DID YOU KNOW?
Guard Rodney Billups, brother of All-Star guard Chauncey Billups, played for the Pistons’ 2006 summer league team. He averaged 1.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 9.3 minutes in three games last summer.
