New Delhi, July 19 (PTI): CNN-IBN has bagged the award for best English television news channel while NDTV India was adjudged the best Hindi news channel by indiatelevision.com at the 'NT Awards 2000' here on Wednesday.

NDTV's Prannoy Roy was honoured for his life-time contribution to television news while CNN-IBN's Rajdeep Sardesai was selected as the "Newsmaker of the Year" at the gala awards function here.

Both NDTV and CNN-IBN shared several awards including the best news talk show, best news anchor, best news documentary and best current affairs programme.

Upendra Rai of Star News bagged the best news reporter in the Hindi category while NDTV's Shaila Chopra was selected in the English version.

NDTV's Vinod Dua and Barkha Dutt won the award for the best news anchors in Hindi and English categories respectively.

CNBC TV 18 was selected as the best business channel while IBN Live of CNN-IBN was adjudged the best news channel website.

Udayan Mukherjee of CNBC TV 18 got the best business news anchor award in English while Aaj Tak's Pranchal Sharma was bestowed with the honour in Hindi.

NDTV's "We the People" was selected as the best news talk show in English while "Khabaron Ki Khabar" of NDTV 24X7 won the honour in the Hindi category.
