Rolls-Royce has been addressing the expanding needs of the Central and Eastern European market for the last ten years. Our involvement encompasses civil aerospace, defence aerospace, marine, energy and civil nuclear businesses, as well as substantial supply chains spanning several countries.
Our regional office is based in Prague, as is our Civil Nuclear Centre of Excellence.
We have a marine manufacturing facility in Gniew, a Marine Service Center in Gdynia and a Shared Engineering Services Center in Krakow, all in Poland. The company also operates a marine design centre in Rijeka, Croatia. In addition Rolls-Royce has offices in Bratislava, Slovakia and Greece.
Civil Aerospace
- LOT Polish Airlines is the first European customer for the B787 Dreamliner aircraft. The first of eight aircraft on order, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, is expected to be delivered in 2012
- The largest low cost carrier in Central & Eastern Europe, WizzAir, currently operates 36 A320 aircraft, all powered by IAE V2500 engines. The airline envisages a fleet of 132 aircraft by 2017
- Romanian Carpatair is the largest user worldwide of the SAAB 2000 aircraft, which are powered by Rolls-Royce AE2100 engines
- Ukrainian Dniproavia currently operates 17 Rolls-Royce AE3007 powered Embraer 145 regional jets.
Defence Aerospace
- Rolls-Royce currently powers military aircraft and helicopters in the 12 countries of Central & Eastern Europe.
Marine
- Rolls-Royce owns and operates a marine equipment manufacturing facility in Gniew, Northern Poland. In 2011 Rolls-Royce launched a Marine Services Center on the Baltic Sea coast in Gdynia, Poland. The Rolls-Royce Marine Design Center based in Rijeka, Croatia, employs more than 100 people and focuses on design and optimization of marine equipment. Marine customers in Southern Europe are served from the Rolls-Royce Marine office in Piraeus, Greece.
Energy
- Rolls-Royce has a large installed base of power generation as well gas compression equipment in Central & Eastern Europe including Trent 60, RB211, RR 501 gas turbines and Bergen engines. The main customers include Gazprom, SPP, PPC, Gama Investment, OPEC, Slovintegra Energy.
Civil Nuclear Energy
- Rolls-Royce has installed I&C safety equipment and/or provided services to a number of nuclear power plants in Central & Eastern Europe. The main customers include utilities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine and Bulgaria.
