Former Oyo Governor Lam Adesina Dead

FORMER GOVERNOR OF OYO STATE, LATE ALHAJI LAM ADESINA

SAN FRANCISCO, November 11, (THEWILL) – A former Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lam Adesina died this morning after a prolonged ailment.

Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who announced his death said he died at a private hospital in Lagos. Sources later told THEWILL that he died at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Island.
 
Adesina, 73, had suffered diabetes for a while and it is suspected he died as a result of complications from the ailment.

THEWILL can report that the deceased has been transported to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital where he is scheduled to be buried later today at his Felele residence, according to Islamic rite.
 
The politician, a former educationist, activist and school principal was previously a member of the federal house of representatives and was elected Governor of Oyo State in 1999 on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
 
Lamidi Ona-Olapo Adesina was born 20 January 1939.
